This is a parody of two songs - Rally Round the Flag & Mary Had a Little Lamb - that was used as a marching song by Irish brigades in the American Civil War. The McPeake Family from Ireland sang this song at an FSGW concert in 1965. The Ring Shouters (Andy Wallace, Jonathan Eberhardt, & Mike Rivers) picked it up & spread it throughout the DC area.
