House Carpenter: Classic ballad with a hint of the supernatural. Cautionary tale for those who break their vows.

Her Bright Smile Haunts Me Still: Gentle song, collected on NC's Outer Banks, of sailor longing for his absent love.

The Mermaid: Lighthearted ballad of a doomed voyage. Rousing chorus.

Maid on the Shore: Great song of virtue triumphant - the lusty sea captain is outwitted.
